Director's StatementIn pool and poker movies, the main objective of the characters is to cheat, fool, hustle and win at all costs, but that is not an exemplary principle, nor the healthiest way to look for happiness. Thus, this genre seemed to need a movie in which the protagonists would play a game because they love it, because they want to relate to other people and because it allows them to escape from the outside world.
The smaller and simpler game of foosball was adequate for a very independent production, it has a connection with innocence (seen as a big toy), and the table itself is an intimate space, more personal and interactive than pool. Because of these connections to innocence, purity and childhood, the characters of this movie have a chance to become children for a night and escape the routine of their regular lives. Duke (Tim Rozon) is able to become the big kid of the party, admired by everyone, instead of the little man he feels in his regular life. What he does not expect is that two outsiders will appear and shake up his drama-free little world: Julianne and Anthony (France Viens & Randy Thomas), who arrive by accident at Kaiser's (Malcolm Travis) foosball party. Julianne catches Duke's interest right away and his quest is to gain her attention. Romance has arrived, and along with it, drama and funny situations.

Music: CapharnaumThis is a pretty good movie. I found it entertaining, if you like short films... you'll like this! You should check it out! Tim Rozon plays Duke who tries to charm an unexpecting stranger that shows up at a foosball tourney on accident with her boyfriend. (Review by S. Chermak.)
Making this movie was no easy task as it never is in independent cinema. The principal photography had to be done in just one weekend, which meant that everyone involved had to give 100% all the time and right away. It was a very demanding workload, but it was quite rewarding. The cast had no chance to break from character, and even the crew were in character. Everything felt very real while making the movie and it also feels real when watching it.
