Adobe builders demonstrate and discuss the te techniques and styles of building with adobe block

Synopsis

New thinking about building homes with adobe blocks--once thought to be antiquated and expensive, suggests that adobes may be the building material of the future. Adobe blocks have no embodied energy, clay and sand are available worldwide, the blocks adapt to new technologies (plumbing and electrical) and they are completely biodegradable. Architects and builders world wide are taking a second look at the potential of building with adobes in the 21st century.

Director's Statement

Quentin Wilson, known world wide as Dr. Adobe, poses the question "does mother earth in the form of adobe block provide us with the best shelter and building material of the future?" The video visits several adobe builders who discuss their techniques and styles and they work on their adobe projects.
