A scientist races to find the cure to a horrific virus before it turns his wife into something monstrous.

Synopsis

John La Zar ("Beyond the Valley of the Dolls") and Adrienne Barbeau ("The Fog," "Creepshow") star in this short film that won Best Horror/Suspense film at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con International Independent Film Festival. Dr. Ben Jacobs (La Zar) saved the world. The drug he created allowed mankind to fight back against the Z-virus, which nearly destroyed civilization entirely. Now, in the aftermath of the crisis, he's trying to cure the last lingering strain of the virus. But what will happen to his wife (Barbeau) when he brings his mysterious work home?

"Wonderfully macabre... a terrific contribution to the literature of the dead." - George A. Romero

"Manages to successfully explore a more complex range of emotions in less than 30 minutes than most films, horror or otherwise, do in 2 hours." - Screen Crave

"A well made and somber look at how the world ends, not with a bang, but rather with a broken heart and a disembowelment." - John Landis

"In a sea of zombie movies, this one stands out as a quiet, gory masterpiece of invention... a true successor to the legacy of George A. Romero." - Movieweb

"It goes for the gusto and gut chewing fans will not be disappointed, but 'Alice Jacobs is Dead' earns the emotions that it wrings from you. It's a genuine film." - Film Threat
