Multi-award winning documentary profiling the lives of five wheelchair athletes and their goal to compete in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles

Synopsis

At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, a first-time, exhibition event - the women's 800 and men's 1500 meter wheelchair races wowed the world.

"Choosing Victory" follows five of the athletes on their journey to make the Olympic team. Ultimately three of the five athletes competed in the Olympics and two won medals. Quite a journey, and the sound of 80,000 people cheering is truely awesome.

Director's Statement

After reading an article about the first ever wheelchair event to be held as part of the actual 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, I found and observed many of the athletes who would be competing in the Olympics.
While those I met and worked with never thought of themselves as 'inspirational', their drive and ability was amazing, indeed inspirational.
