Synopsis

Gil Hodges was a man of great character, diginity and courage. He was without question one of the
most beloved men in the history of the game. As the first basemen for the legendary Brooklyn
Dodgers of the Fifties and as the manager of the 1969 World Champion Miracle Mets, Gil Hodges
made baseball history. This film is the story of his life, from his boyhood in Indiana to his glory days
with the Dodgers, his managerial career with the Mets and his untimely and tragic death at age 47
in 1972. Special guests include: DUKE SNIDER, CARL ERSKINE, RALPH BRANCA, TOM SEAVER,
DON NEWCOMBE, RACHEL ROBINSON and many more.
