"When I wrote the script to Hawaiian Gardens in 1999, the idea of creating stories, TV series, even novels with computer programs was pretty wild. 8 years later, it's a known fact that this can be done, or is done. It's also a fact that young people read more and more. It's the internet education versus the TV education from a generation before.
We shot the film in a strip mall in Silverlake, a part of Los Angeles but also in Germany, in an old glass town in Bavaria.
