A documentary film based on a bank computer operator that is fired from his job of nearly ten years and finds employment at a local health food cooperative.

Synopsis

In this documentary I will attempt to present a meaningful and informative summary of the Cooperative Sevananda Natural Foods titled “Health Nuts: Serving My Time In A Natural Foods Cooperative”. The overall outline of this documentary is to cover and discuss the total operation of not only a cooperative, but a natural foods only based cooperative. Though Cooperatives are not all natural food or vegetarian based, Sevananda Natural Foods Cooperative is one of the few grocers in the entire country that offers no animal based products, seafood, tobacco, or any type of alcohol. The overall purpose is to not only celebrate the overall success of the Cooperative to the world, but to give the viewer an inside picture of working in such an environment.

Health Nuts took over 3 years to produce. With over 50 customer interviews plus employee interviews, the documentary is very informative. The animation within the film took quite some time also because only one person, Sevananda Natural Foods graphic designer Ano Wesu Dennis worked with me on the film and animation. After compiling all the chips, the finishing editing was completed by Spurgen of Interactive Video Services of Atlanta.
