A smart and hilarious story about dating, love, Mormons and underpants.
SynopsisThis is the story of Colin, a smart, witty and good looking guy, whom after getting dumped by his air-head girlfriend, attempts to make her jealous by hitting on a fellow classmate, Abbie; a seemingly harmless action… but after agreeing to come to 'her house' for a Home Cooked Meal, Colin finds himself trapped in a strange world of Mormonism, salad, strange pajamas and an over-abundance of Jesus paraphernalia.
Director's StatementIt was October 2007. One semester away from graduating college, and I was looking to make a short film I could be proud of.
My basic idea at first was just: “man gets kidnapped by Mormon, man is forced to stay with Mormon.” It cracked me up, so I had to keep going and develop the story more...
In December 2007, I was almost done with the script and a friend introduced me to Sarah Klegman; we talked, I gave her a copy of the script and later that same day (with a meeting in the college stairwell) she was on board.
A few months later the script was done, crew was locked down, the cast had been set and before I knew it, we had completed filming.
I’m proud to have worked with the cast and crew of “Home Cooked Meal.” The quality of the movie is a result of all the hard work and collaboration of a wonderfully talented cast, a hardworking crew and a lot of support from all our family, friends and peers. It was a wonderful experience.
Enjoy.
