About a couple who travel to France, but should have stayed home.

Synopsis

This is a student film about a couple who traveled to France, but really should have stayed home This film won several awards back in 1981: 6th place at Ann Arbor, Michigan and Sinking Creek, Athens Georgia. All of the sound was dubbed in post. I shot the entire film with a Bolex on 16mm commercial echktachrome. The piano music was performed by Barbara Parker: selections of Beethoven's Pathetique and Pastoral sonatas. 16mm, color, running time: 10:26, Produced 1980.

Crew

This film was what I managed to capture during our spring trip to France in 1980. The characters you see in this film are none other than my parents who are now both deceased. Also the main character, Dr. Lendon Smith was a well known personality in the North West and for the most part known nationally for his pediatric advice as the children's doctor.

The film travels from Paris to the south finally winding up in Antibes at a pretty tacky mo-hotel called Hotel Josse, I filmed about 2,000 feet of color 16mm ecktachrome all of which was filmed without sound. Post production dubbing and music recording took about 3 months to complete. The film won 6th place at Ann Arbor in 1981 and a similar award at Sinking Creek (Nashville, TN). I really had wanted to do a series with this being the first film. But the humor for the most part is very non-mainstream. I often wonder what an Italian or German Infernal Voyage would have been like.
