La Prochaine Fois (The Next Time)
5 minutes | Teen | 2010 |
United States of America
A short fictional narrative film written and directed by Duffy Higgins and John Jaxheimer for Pret-A-Surf('10/'11 Resort Line)
SynopsisThe short film, "La Prochaine Fois", tells a story that leaves itself open to interpretation. Much like abstract art, It allows the viewer to insert his or her own perspectives and ultimately decide for themselves the fate of the characters.
The goal of this film was to convey the concept of a Pret-A-Surf woman attracting her surfer boy crush by using repetition to not only display the Pret-A-Surf Resort line but also intoxicate the audience with a sexy sympathetic character. Combining a vintage, French-Pop & British-mod aesthetic with a contemporary American cinematic mindset, we enthusiastically watch our hero navigate her ambitions through a dream-like lens.

"We’ve been obsessing over Pret-a-Surf’s short film “La Prochaine Fois,” mostly because we want to be the star. Not only is she gorgeous in that effortless surfer girl way, she also wears nearly every piece in Pret-a-Surf’s latest collection. While we don’t plan to climb on a surf board any time soon, we do plan on heading to the beach, and that red polka dot bikini is officially perfect." Lauren Sherman, Fashionista.com
Filmed in 2 days; 1 on location at Sea Spray Cottages in East Hampton, NY and 1 at Day Light Studios in September and October of 2010

The naive yes mischevious smile she shows each morning caused me to feel the same way. That feeling of knowing you want to have that moment with someone, yet the hesitancy of the first moment of meeting stands in the way.
Such a sweet film and I love the song!
