An introspective drama about a young girl who becomes caught up in the moment while staging a re-enactment of the May 18th, 1980 uprising in Gwangju, South Korea.

At the dawn of the 1980s, South Korean democracy was still in its infancy, and the future looked decidedly uncertain. When a group of peaceful protestors filed into the streets of Gwangju, martial law troops opened fire on the civilians, indiscriminately killing women and children alike. Twenty-five years later, a group of Gwangju citizens including Soonji and Jaegu is preparing to commemorate the massacre by staging a recreation at the provincial government's civic center when Soonji becomes emotionally overwhelmed while recalling the sacrifice her parents made in order to give her a good upbringing.
