Adventurous brother resists an all-out effort by his no-nonsense sister to try to change him.
SynopsisRetired railroad engineer Carlton "Cap" Snyder is arrested for causing a ruckus at a nursing home. His sister Peg takes him on a trip to a Gourd Show to keep him away from the home. Cap stows away in an RV, leaving a worried Peg behind. Cap lives it up while Peg launches a nationwide media search to find him.
Director's StatementThree days before filming was to begin, my Director of Photography called me to say it was too big of a project and he wasn't going to do it. I had lined up 69 actors, and the free use of 13 locations, including two hotels, a travel agency, a high school bingo hall and a police station. I had also convinced a tour bus company to let me borrow a bus, a railcar company to provide a switch engine and another company to loan me an RV. I made some frantic calls and talked a local videographer, Fred Tribout, who never made a movie, into helping me. The project was shot over 13 days with (mostly) one take and no rehersals.

"No explosions, natural disasters or visitors from outer space. Just real people, living real lives in the real world. A fun, yet inspiring, story." -Ed Coury, CBS Radio (WWJ) Detroit MI
"A break from life in the fast lane. Sit back, relax and enjoy a humorous slice of life in the Midwest." -Bob Hamilton, Chancellor Broadcasting -San Francisco CA
"An enjoyable "real life" journey from the Midwest that creates a homey feeling. I became lost in the story and felt as if I was watching people I knew." -Michael McVay, McVay Media, Cleveland, OH
John Regetz, a retired NASA engineer, appeared in over 60 community theater plays in 26 years before starring in "SixtySomething": "My favorite scene was at a hotel. I got to sit in a Jacuzzi full of bubbles, sip champagne and smoke a cigar." Chuck and Lory Elliott were directed by Paul Newman in "Here Today" at the Brecksville Little Theater in Brecksville, Ohio. Lory was an extra in the movie "Those Lips Those Eyes." Jan Futhey, a retired school teacher, is active in community theater. Helen Graydon has appeared in over 50 shows and written six stage plays that were produced locally. Dick Klimaszewski is an exterminator by day and active in community theater by night. "I knock 'em dead by day and by night," he says. We shot the film in 13 days at 13 locations. Many of the 69 actors are media people I knew from my days as a radio news anchor and news director. A friend told me I could never have a flat tire because I used up all my favors.
