Synopsis

Thirty two year old Jim Wentzhof is jolted from his complacent lifestyle at home with Mom when estranged childhood pal, Dino, calls from Los Angeles with an intriguing proposition that Jim just cannot refuse. Risking the comfort and security of his hometown, Sacramento, Jim packs all he thinks he will need for his one shot at Hollywood. He soon discovers a world far more complex and fragmented than the one he left behind. His taxing relationships with Dino, the tormented artist and Rachel the aspiring actor along with the very peculiar underground community of Los Angeles all seem to conspire against him. Unable to maintain his footing, Jim spirals through the confusion hoping to find the answers that will make sense of it all.

"The Amazing Omelette" is a 16mm feature film shot with an Eclair ACL-2, then edited on a Showchron 6 plate editing table (cut and spliced with "tape" for those unfamilair with the physical approach of the past). It was later digitized and re-edited in one of those fancey computer boxes with all of the flashy on-screen options. This avant-gard film was also completed utalizing an absolute minimal production staff with an absolute maximum creative integrity. The style, therefore, reflects the unique artistic qualities of its makers and will hopefully entertain the minds of adventurous viewers everywhere.
