A testament to the power of guerilla-independent filmmaking, THE DYING LIGHT takes an unflinching look at the struggles of a father and his two sons as they attempt to salvage their long estranged relationships. When a man, who has “come home to die,” appears on their doorstep, the tension between the men reaches a boiling point and without fully realizing it they find themselves standing on the threshold of life and death, struggling to find their relation to it... and each other. Inspired by life and set in the hauntingly beautiful desolation of a New Jersey shore-town in the off-season, THE DYING LIGHT is a film whose power will resonate long after the final frames roll.

Director's Statement:

"Billy sometimes calls our productions “leaky boats” and truth be known, he may have something there. Just about the entire of production of The Dying Light took place in less than a week in late October 2005, the headcount of the crew tallied in at three, myself and Anthony included, the budget was whatever happened to be in our checking accounts, the lights were jimmy-rigged, the mics were borrowed and the actors, god bless them, were unpaid. This is not a list of complaints so much as reconciliation, an account of my astonishment, because in spite of the leaks, the boat, ah, she sailed. And the journey, as well as the destination, in my humble opinion, were beautiful.
How fortunate to live in a time where I can pick up a camera and shoot a film because it pleases me to do so. The fact that this has not always been the case does not go unnoticed and so, The Dying Light, leaks and all, is a meditation, a prayer, and above all, a token of my gratitude."
