Who says you can’t be best friends with a giant goldfish? When a lonely young boy catches a mysterious goldfish whilst fishing on the lake, no one is prepared for what lies within. The boy’s troubled home life, leads to an emotional bond with the goldfish, based at least in part, on their similar circumstances. Everybody needs friends, right? So together these two form a special bond... But when the goldfish starts doubling in size after every meal, the boy finds it increasingly difficult to keep his new friend a secret…

Director's Statement:

My goldfish recently died... It was bought for me by my little brother for my birthday when I was in the middle of post production on this film. He thought it was 'cute' to get me a goldfish when I was working on film about a giant goldfish. But the fish was actually pretty special. It didn't grow to giant size or anything, but was always watching and flirting with whoever was near her bowl. So watching the film now has weirdly taken on another meaning for me since 'my Goldie's' passing. Every boy should have a pet. Even if it is a giant goldfish... I made this film for everyone who had a pet as a kid, or anyone who is still a kid, or anyone who needs a pet. I like to cover all the bases!

I hope you enjoy, and that it reminds you of the relationships you've had with the little fishy animals that have warmed your heart.
