Eight Short Films by Mike Flanagan

Synopsis

"The Sugarbaby Collection" represents the short films of writer/director Mike Flanagan between 1996 and 2002. Mostly shot at Towson University, many are Award Winning shorts, ranging from drama to horror, experimental, and music video. This collection includes: "College Gothic", "Finals", "An Angel's Mark", "I'd Die Without You", "Tides", "Symposium", "Goodbye Mr. Spalding", and "In Morning".

Director's Statement

This is a fun collection, representing the beginning of my love affair with filmmaking. They fluctuate in quality (I think "Goodbye Mr. Spalding", "In Morning", "Symposium", and "Tides" are the best). Some of them won some awards, all were a blast to make.

"Spalding" works as something of a companion piece to my first feature film, "Makebelieve", featuring nearly the entire ensemble cast from that film. It also features the first appearance of Brody Campbell (played by me this time), who would later be the focus of "Ghosts of Hamilton Street" as played by Scott Graham.
