Synopsis

This is the story of a unique twelve-step program that entwines twelve of New York’s most dysfunctional, deviant, and helpless addicts in a controversial recovery program. At the core of this is Lou Carbone; a publicly visible crime boss with a secret that could cost him his life if his associates were to find out. Nick Clancy, a no nonsense New York City detective, relentlessly peruses Carbone. Clancy obsessed with Carbone, has put everything on the line including his marriage, career, and ethics. Clancy confronts Dr. Leon Chomsky, the brilliant psychiatrist and the creator of the twelve-step program. As Carbone works through his compulsion, we are introduced to a host of disturbed characters, revealing their stories of addiction that include obsessive overeating, prostitution, drinking, gambling, and pyromania. As a group, they are the “Undertaker’s Dozen.”
