SynopsisA different kind kind of love triangle. It's about loyalty, unconditional love, and the extent to which a four-legged companion will go to protect his girl. Rudy loves Maggie, and when Tim comes into the picture, he will stop at nothing to prevent this new suitor from taking her away. In order to win Maggie, Tim must get into Rudy's head, learn what it will take, and the negotiation begins.
Director's StatementDuring my twenty year career as a Script Supervisor, I have worked, studied, and been mentored by some of the finest directors and producers in television and film. These talented people have inspired me to direct and produce my own film. When looking for my first directing project, I chose a topic that is dear to me, as it is to many, the relationship between a woman and her dog. I looked to my own dachshund, Alfred, to help find the story. After collaborating with Sera Gable, we came up with the story of Rudy. The relationship between Rudy and Maggie mirrors my own relationship with Alfred. He is a huge part of my life, and often brings comedic moments that I wanted to include in this short. I've always imagined what he'd say if he could talk, and this short provided the vehicle to play with that idea.

Review: KIDS FIRST!® Adult Juror Comments: Cute story, cute dog. Sweet romantic comedy with good acting and screenplay. We can hear the dog's thoughts through the voice of the narrator and can experience his jealousy and cleverness. And yet, the romance manages to develop. If you are a dog lover, you'll absolutely love this. Even if you are not, this puppy is so appealing, it will steal your heart.
