Zombie Movie Database Excellent Short Zombies Take The Schoolyard ends up being an excellent short film that shows this group of aspiring filmmakers have a lot of talent. The acting is good by all the players in here, something which isn't always a given in films by people who are just starting out. Hell, I can think of quite a number who even when they get older don't manage to develop much in the way of acting talent. The two leads do very well in here, and they have the most challenging roles since they have the speaking parts. The rest of the players are the zombies, and, I must admit, there are a few who went over-the-top, but that didn't hurt the film too much. The make-up was basic, but that was fine as the camera didn't focus on any one zombie too long. The storyline was very well done. I especially liked how James Tuverson and his fellow creators avoided cliched characters in here, which would have been all too easy to put into a movie set in a school. The two main characters really did convey that their lives were at stake here and acted like it. I give Zombies Take The Schoolyard 9 out of 10. by: Verhoskan
