Sarah Ellis
A graduate of the International Film School of Wales, I've worked variously as a check-out girl, barmaid, catering assistant, call-centre slave and giftware designer before finding my way back into the world of film in 2005. Previously resident in Wales, I relocated to Liverpool in 2006 to catch some of the wave of excitement from its status as European Capital of Culture and to pursue the burgeoning opportunities for writers in the North west. A native of London, I'm currently employed by the Liverpool Theatres Trust and since returning to film, have had some notable successes, including:- Winner, Individual Screenwriters Award - Arts Council Wales, Short script "Easy Money" produced at Lime Pictures, Short script "Re:Run" produced by UK Film Council and ITV1 Wales, Commissioned by Northwest Vision and the UK Film Council as writer and producer of Digital Short "Waving At Cars". Six scripts shortlisted in two years for the UK Film Council's regional Digital Shorts schemes. My first short film as director - 'Sandman' - was awarded a bursary with 'Waving At Cars' to screen in the Short Film Corner at Cannes 2009. Short film 'Fresh Meat' (writer and co-producer) is nominated in the Best Newcomer catagory at the Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival 2009
