Aidan Duffy
Aidan Duffy was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1984, and attended St. Kevin’s College in south Dublin from 2003-2005. While there he served as camera operator for the author Graham Tugwell’s short film Living Death: A Day In The Life Of Dracula, and wrote and directed his first short film, a religious comedy entitled Christ on a Bike. He received an award for “Best Auteur” upon his graduation with a Higher National Diploma in Media Production in June 2005. In 2006 he wrote, produced and directed the personally funded short drama Vienna, which was accepted that year to the 2nd Navan Film Festival in County Meath, Ireland. After serving as a production assistant or camera operator on other productions, he returned to writing, producing and directing in 2011 with the personally funded science fiction short Mirrorman, which had its world premiere at the Short Film Corner of the 64th Cannes Film Festival in May 2011, and its Irish premiere at The Underground Cinema in July 2011. He was nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2011 Underground Cinema Film Festival Awards for his work on Mirrorman, and has licensed Indieflix.com to distribute Mirrorman. He is currently in pre-production on a dark fantasy short entitled Aisling’s Shadow, which should be ready for distribution in early 2013.
