Brett Eichenberger

Brett Eichenberger began his work in film and video at an early age. Throughout high school and college, Mr. Eichenberger directed various award-winning films, music videos and a season of the Pacific Northwest regional Fox Action Sports and alternative music television show, "Insomnia". This led him to jobs in Los Angeles directing television for Fox Family Channel and Universal Studios. Brett’s talent eventually brought him to Washington, DC, where he produced and edited documentaries and public service announcements broadcast in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Subsequent filmmaking assignments have taken him to Pakistan to film the earthquake devastation and to Egypt to produce a short film for the Pan-Arab community. Stateside Brett continues to work as a director and editor for commercial and corporate clients. His short film, "The Leeward Tide", has played in over thirty film festivals worldwide and received awards for Best Drama, Best Short Film, Best Music, Best Cinematography, and Best Regional Film. Prior to "The Leeward Tide" Brett’s short films "The Beautiful One" and "Long Time No Se"e played nationwide and won various awards including Best Comedy. In 2003 the Icelandic independent film community recognized Brett for outstanding filmmaking. His last short film, "The Cowboy Way", was used in the teaching curriculum at the Prague Film School. His debut feature "Light of Mine" screened nationwide at the Ashland Independent Film Festival, Northwest Sightings Film Festival of Seattle, 25th Annual AFI Film Fest, Newfilmmakers LA, Lighthouse International Film Festival, HD Fest, 1st Annual Tyrolean Independent Film Festival, and screened independently in Portland and Washington DC. The film won awards for Audience Choice, Best Feature Film, Best Director of Feature Film, and was a finalist for best cinematography. The music for "Light of Mine" was also recognized with an award for best original film score. Brett’s film career includes working with Nike, Intel, various non-profit groups including ChildHelp USA and The Children’s Course, the U.S. Defense Department, Travis Air Force Base, members of the Oregon and California wine community, and musicians on Sony record label. Brett currently lives in Portland, OR where he works as a director and editor.
