Matias Nilsson
Born in Argentina and half-Swedish, Matías grew up immersed in cinema from many languages and traditions. His desire to show the realities that unite and separate us across cultures led him to pursue a career in film. During college Matías spent a year abroad studying at San Francisco State University and shot his first short film in Argentina. “Condena al Inocente”, was a well-received short and selected into several festivals. After graduating from University of Belgrano, Matías began working on commercials, music videos, and short films as an assistant director. He also completed a certificate from University of California, Los Angeles Extension in Cinematography in 2009. In 2011 Matías finished his next project "Sides", a fifteen minutes film shot in California with the support of Kodak and Panavision. "Sides" has been selected to the Official Selection of the Marbella International Film Festival. Matías is continuing to work with various productions in Los Angeles as he prepares to direct his next film.
