I only shoot home movies of my kids now (with no microwaves!). I wrote this when I was a student at the National Film School of England in the 70's. It was to be black+white and shot in London. When it got funded 10 years later, it needed to be shot in LA. DIVINE was going to play the Helga role, but he died and Lainie Kazan stepped in and gave a great performance. Burt Young brought a great deal of humor to his role and was a pleasure to work with. The producer and distributor both went bust and the film was never released. I am grateful that Indieflix can provide a platform for Medium Rare's release onto DVD, just so that those who worked on it can have some record of their efforts, albeit 20 years later!
