Soyeon Kim

Soyeon Kim is multi-award winning animation director and illustrator. Soyeon was born in Seoul, Korea. While she majored Painting at college, she developed her interest in moving images, which naturally lead her to the world of animation. Soyeon has been working on a broad range of projects in the world of advertising and film productions as a director, designer, and animator. Her work is visually strong and somewhat experimental, since she loves to create various styles and textures using different painting techniques and bring them into animations. Her independent films and commissioned work have been screened over 100 film festivals worldwide, aired on the TV networks, and published in the newspapers and magazines, some of which also won numerous prestigious awards. She now lives in southern California in US, working on various projects with studios around the world as well as running her own design/animation studio ‘YELLOWSHED’.
