Simon Jacques
I come from Aix-en-Provence, a really small town located in south of France. After spending a year abroad in New-York where I could discover a broad variety of art forms, I entered The International Film School Of Paris (EICAR) in 2007. There I Have learned the craft of film-making, directed three short-films and learned aesthetics of light and camera techniques. In need for an alternative way to express myself, I bought my first camera and started to take photographs during my 2 months trip to amazing Indonesia. I discovered in myself a real passion for this accessible art. I like pictures that quickly grasp imagination and fascinate senses; each photograph holds its own poetic potential, and interests me in a way that I try to highlight using photo editing softwares. That is when I'm not simply challenged to extract esthetism from things originally dull. Nevertheless, Cinema remains my trade, I involve myself in various projects as an assistant director but also as a camera assistant. You'll find on this website samples of the projects I have contributed to create and some of the photographs I have been taking.
