Synopsis

Ivan and Barry merrily banter until Ivan's wife, Mary, brings news that Peter, the bane of Ivan's existence, will be arriving shortly with his wife and Ivan's second niece, Alena. Now, Ivan's mood turns grim, as he already knows the reason for Peter's visit. After a not so lovely luncheon, Ivan brings up the fact that Alena has not yet had any children even though she is already a grown woman in her mid thirty-ones. Peter brings up the point that they are not yet financially stable and asks Ivan to borrow money, which immediately ensues an argument between the two that almost comes to blows until Alena and Mary separate the two men and Peter leaves the house in a fit of frustration. Sitting alone outside, Peter is consoled by Alena's sister, Sara. He finds comfort in her, and they share a kiss. Meanwhile, Ivan pleads with Alena to leave Peter. She defends him and is able to persuade Ivan to loan them the money they need to get back on their feet. At the dessert table, Ivan apologizes for his earlier behavior and makes peace with Peter. Barry proposes to Sara, and she happily accepts. Ivan's House is peaceful again.
