Inspired by Paulo Coelho’s story The Alchemist, Khwaab (an awakened dream. . .) tells the story of Aditya, a 26 year-old computer engineer who has come to San Francisco from India to pursue the American Dream. He is well on his way: he has just received a promotion in difficult economic times, his parents back home are proud, and they have even found a woman for him to marry.
Yet, within his heart Aditya knows that something is not right, and despite the momentum of his success, he senses that he is at a crossroad. Characters from his dreams begin to enter his waking life, making him begin to question not only his sanity, but his choices in life as well.Spurred by Mel, a mysterious figure trying to encourage him to pursue his dream, Aditya leaves the security of his career, midstream, to attend film school. He must now answer not only to his parents and friends, but to himself as well. Is his choice the right one? Was it worth it?
