Synopsis

A no-budget film by Thomas Lewis. "Layers" is a short film inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, Yoshitoshi ABe's manga "The Nightmare of Fabrication" and the Sasebo massacre. The film uses HD, Super-8 film and Polaroids. SYNOPSIS Alice is a lonely 15-years-old girl. One night she sits alone in her room, yearning for someone to talk to, but her parents aren't home and all her friends have left her. Desperate for some companionship and after hearing a news report about the Sasebo Massacre in Japan, she cuts open a Teddy-bear she has had since childhood and modifies it so it can move on its own. The experimentation goes really wrong, and Alice starts talking with a strange voice through the radio...
