For the Jamaican men who travel to the USA under the H2-A immigrant labor program the day-to-day realities of life in the apple Orchards of the Hudson Valley is a bitter sweet experience.
Narrated by Elliott Gould and shot in New York’s Hudson Valley and Jamaica, "Seasons in the Valley" is an emotional and lyrical film which chronicles the journeys of Jamaican migrant workers, the plight of New York's apple farmers, and the bonds that have formed between these two disparate groups as they fight to maintain their mutually beneficial existence in an emerging, and fiercely competitive, global economy.
“If it’s beautiful it’s gotta be good, well that’s not always so.”
