Synopsis

"The Crew" unravels the mystery and explores the various technical positions that form a film production unit. "The Crew", covering 18 different departments from Grips to Costumes, Lighting to Make-up, vividly presents the jobs and lives of film production workers.

The Camera Department sets up the camera to match the director's vision and are responsible for capturing images on film or tape.

Positions discussed in this episode:
Director of Photography: Also known as the cinematographer. The camera and lighting supervisor on a production, overseeing the work of the camera crew.

Camera Operator: Responsible for the actual operation of the camera.

1st Assistant Camera: Responsible for adjusting the focus of the lens while filming. Also known as the focus puller.

2nd Assistant Camera: Responsible for marking the actor's places, slating, paperwork, dealing with film stock, camera equipment and the lab.
