Jóhann's son, Jóhas, sees through Katla's plan and pleads for his father to make her go away. To help Jóhas in his struggle, Margit's mother appears to Margit in visions and provides a magic amulet of protection for the boy. This rare film staring the young Björk is slow moving, and yet increadibly intriguing. It reminds me of some of my favorite films from the 70s.

If Ingmar Bergman made a movie about witches, it would probably look a lot like this. The desolate Icelandic scenery is just as haunting as the story.
