Synopsis

From silent film star Sessue Hayakawa to "Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle", The Slanted Screen examines Hollywood’s portrayals of Asian men in film and television. Narrated by Daniel Dae Kim, star of ABC’s "Lost", the award-winning film includes interviews with Academy award-nominated actor Mako, comedian Bobby Lee "MAD TV", actor Jason Scott Lee "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story", producer Terence Chang "John Woo’s Red Cliff" and director Justin Lin "The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift". The film contains over 50 film clips of depictions of Asian American male characters from Hollywood films spanning almost a century.
