School is finally out, it's heating up and it's time to go outside! This month we've put together three of our favorite films that illustrate how people today are interacting with their immediate and greater outdoor surroundings.
DISKO follows Olivier Huin and his crew as they sail on his handmade wooden boat "Breskel" (galloping horse) in search of the infamous DISKO Bay off the coast of Greenland. The same area that is believed to have birthed the iceberg that the Titanic hit. If this short doesn't ignite a hunger for adventure we don't know what will!
Watch people move through city landscape alternatively using structures and urban developments as a "playground", through the practice of parkour. If you need inspiration on how to look at things a bit differently My Playground is your film.
Feeling overwhelmed by the sounds of the city and aching for some solace from nature? Follow filmmaker Johnathan Taggart as he documents Canadians who have chosen to live "off the grid" in nature powered by their independent sustainable energy sources.
Hope you found something that brought the outdoors inside! Now it's time to find your own adventure!
