Angst is a film-based mental health support program, endorsed by educators, psychiatrists and mental health advocates. Distributed by education veteran, iNDIEFLIX, it has transformed lives across 64 countries.
This Statewide Initiative will:
"My county serves children of all demographics including those in poverty. Angst is not only appropriate but needed because it offers practical tips that are accessible to all. The film helps them understand the brain science behind anxiety symptoms and to be equipped with healthy tools that empower them."
"Learning to cope with stress in a healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and those around you become more resilient."
— Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The need for this program has never been more critical:
As highlighted in the Child Health and Development Institute of Connecticut's Impact Report, the mental health of our youth is of major concern, with at least one in five students needing help, and the vast majority not receiving it. Schools are in the best position to reach and positively impact all of the students who need this vital support.
"I never knew that what I was experiencing was severe anxiety. I'm so grateful to know that there is treatment."
— Student, Seattle WA
"Middle and high school student anxiety in our community is very real, this was an excellent way to educate us about the brain, our feelings, and reactions to anxiety, what challenges it can cause in individuals and family life, as well as some helpful solutions!"
— Parent, Dallas TX

"My life has been dedicated to raising awareness about the wide-spread impact of anxiety, reducing the shame of those suffering from anxiety disorders, and eliciting commitment for treatment. I’m pleased to host the screening of Angst, a documentary that vividly and accurately portrays what it’s like to have anxiety, how anxiety can look different across child and adolescent development, and the treatments that have proven effective. It is my hope that this screening will encourage you to reach out for help and inspire us to face this epidemic head-on!"
